Sustainable Computing:

This presentation describes how to use systems thinking to understand the dynamics of "Sustainable Computing" and consider the long-term costs and maintainability of a growing computer inventory and increasing associated costs. The model is an example of the systems thinking "Limits to Growth" archetype.

Also, reviewed is a model of handling calls for service. The structure was developed in the context of handling police calls for service for crimes and community policing, but applies as well to an IT department handing calls for service from computer users. This model is an example of the systems thinking "Fixes that Fail" archetype.
