Populism, 'Trade' and Jobs

Here are slides on U.S. "trade" as well as on employment, unemployment and jobs in the U.S. and Colorado. Trade deficit trends are unsustainable and "trade" policy has undermined and is continuing to undermine the U.S. economy.

I prepared these slides to show how important it is that the U.S. should have a populist president. John Edwards has been called a populist. I showed them at the John Edwards “house party” in Colorado Springs on 3/28/07 (*). Updated 8/28/07.

* Have since added the last slide showing the causal loop structure driving offshoring.

To understand what's happening and what should be done, see The Trade Deficit and the Fallacy of Composition.
