OK? Immediately. Fast. Quick."
The Republican Plan doesn't just affect those 17,000/yr in 2018 and the 28,000/yr in 2026 who will die. It also affects their families and their friends. Note: The CBO report on the bill that passed the House shows that 23M, not 24M, will lose coverage. That means only ~220,000 persons will die over 10 years, not 230,000. Based on the first bill on which there was not vote, it's not just those 17,000/yr to 29,000/yr who die that will be negatively affected. Note, that's an average of 23,000 persons/year who will die; over 10 years that's ~230,000 persons who will die. Also affected will be family and friends of those who will die; if that's perhaps 10X as many, then 2.3M will be affected. Republicans have complained about rising PPACA premiums, but you ain't seen nothing yet! "Perhaps the most widely shared detail in the report was an estimate that the average 64-year-old making $26,500 would pay an additional $12,900 in premiums every year to purchase insurance that would provide fewer benefits than under Obamacare." [From: Congressional Budget Report Could Upset GOP Efforts to Repeal Obamacare] Republicans Beware the Backlash!
May 9, 2017 Mr. Cory Gardner Mr. Gardner, The Republican ACHA is a moral monstrosity. Republican dedication to assuring more American citizens die is clear. You cosponsored the "Defund Obamacare Act" that says "no entitlement to benefits under any provision of (Obamacare) shall remain in effect on and after the date of enactment!". To hell with Patient Protection, right? It's in the Constitution that government's purpose includes "promote the general Welfare". Government must require a mandate for health insurance because the adverse selection dynamic causes the health insurance "free market" to fail. (see diagram). This is why the U.S. must have a Single-Payer, Medicare for All, health insurance system. On my website I explain that, without universal coverage, the U.S. health insurance system is fatally flawed because of adverse selection. Added to that fundamental flaw, it makes our economy less competitive, discourages U.S. innovation, costs the U.S. twice as much per capita, puts low-level corporate bureaucrats between patients and doctors, has obscene CEO pay, adds unnecessary profits with exorbitant overhead costs, bankrupts Americans, and leads to the deaths of 100,000 persons/year because the U.S. system isn't as good as that of France. Republicans/Trump say the PPACA is failing. No wonder there are problems! Republicans work to make it fail by eliminating Risk Corridor funding, which is why health insurance corporations are withdrawing from markets ... that's the Republican plan. Republicans say the AHCA covers preexisting conditions. That's a LIE. From Forbes: "House Passes Obamacare Replacement That Would Cover Just 5% With Preexisting Conditions" by Bruce Japsen, May 4, 2017 You represent insurance corporations and the wealthy. Of the $765B in tax cuts, $490B (64%) goes to the top 20%; $306B (40%) to the top 1% (who make more than $772K/yr). Who you represent Is clear. It's a Tax Cut bill, not a Health Care bill. I say about Republicans what Trump says about journalists: Republicans are "crooked", "lying", "thieving", "dishonest", "disgusting", "corrupt", "scum", and "Enemy of the American People". It's the Republican Party of Death. Admit it! Sincerely,
Here is the letter I delivered to Gardner's office in Colorado Springs on the murderous AHCA bill Republicans just passed in the House that gives enormous tax cuts to the wealthy by denying 24 million Americans health insurance to provide $765B in tax cuts: $490B (64%) goes to the top 20%; $306B (40%) to the top 1%. It's not just those 17,000/yr to 29,000/yr who die that will be negatively affected. Note, that's an average of 23,000 persons/year who will die; over 10 years that's ~230,000 persons who will die.
