The lies about socialism just don't stop. It goes on and on ... it's impossible to keep up. Here's one meme that's a prime example of the typical black propaganda. I actually love these memes, because they're so transparently false. And yet some people evidently believe and distribute them. This article describe why one particular meme is a pathetic distortion of reality.

Oppose 2C sales tax increase: Pay for Past Sins; Sin No More

The Initiative 2C sales tax increase should be opposed, not because we should avoid taxes, but because it doesn't tax at all the entities that should be taxed. Everyone must pay for the sins of the past, but going forward it's absolutely necessary for taxes/fees to also be levied on new growth.This article is a "liberal perspective" on why to oppose 2C. It examines the structural problem driving infrastructure backlogs and how to correct their root cause. It illustrates that "liberal" is actually "responsible conservative", instead of the irresponsible, what's-referred-to-as "conservative".

Sanctuary City Lies

Summary: Mayor John Suthers doesn't understand that there is no sanctuary in "Sanctuary Cities"; ICE can go anywhere, regardless. Opposing a "Sanctuary City" policy does not increase "law and order"; it does the opposite. It also imposes an unfunded federal mandate on local and state governments. Republicans should oppose those outcomes. The only explanation that they don't: racism. Because it's not about "law and order" or city policing, the motivation is clear. Instead, Mr. Mayor, do your job, not the federal government's, to increase, not decrease, "law & order."

Yes, Global Warming is an Existential Threat to Life on Earth. Near term, it's a major threat for flooding and air travel. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma are only the beginning of much more horrific flooding and destruction ... more devastation. It's vitally necessary that Colorado Springs do its share to address this problem ... get off coal ASAP ... close Drake ASAP.

Mr. Andy Pico (on the Utilities Board & City Council) took my presentation as being a "personal attack". Those who hold his misguided views on this issue have attempted to make it "politically incorrect" to call them "deniers" they are, instead of "skeptics".
It's false to say that combating Global Warming is "ideological subversion ... a power-grab on an international level ... a step toward a one-world socialist government ... a vehicle for control."
We must attack every problems at the appropriate level -- be it local, regional, national or world -- without fear-mongering about the word, socialism, implying that's a synonym for authoritarian, despotic government. Nonsense. Any economic system can have an authoritarian governing system.

Scarborough Promotes Failed Right-Wing Policies

In this MSNBC segment on "Mika Brzezinski Responds To President Donald Trump's Tweets About Her", it's difficult to know whether Scarborough is monumentally uninformed, blinded by ideology, or blatantly lying.
Points:
1. The media, in particular MSNBC, is not "liberal"; it is, at a minimum, "corporate conservative."
2. Criticizing Trump for his lies does not make Joe Scarborough an "Independent." Scarborough can declare himself "Independent", but his failing positions are Republican to the core. He is certainly no "liberal"!

Cory Gardner's 'Better Care' Betrayal

The Senate so-called Better Care Reconciliation Act will leave 22 million more Americans be uninsured by 2026. The budget office projects that by 2026, 49 million people would be uninsured, compared with 28 million people if the current law remained in effect. It is a "tax cut" bill for the wealthy, paid for by stealing billions from working people & destroying health care for millions. That's even though Tax Breaks for the Top 1% are 1/6th of all Tax Expenditures and 2.7X SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Tax Expenditures going to the top 20% are greater than military spending, which is $599B and 54% of all Discretionary Spending!
